Households affected by the Benefit Cap

02 November 2017

The Benefit Cap dataset has been updated with the figures for August 2017 released today by the Department for Work and Pensions.

The figures for August 2017 show that there were 641 households in the County affected by the Benefits Cap, 27 more than in May but just short of the highest total experienced in February after the cap levels changed.

The estimated number of children living in these households has increased again after the dip last quarter and now stands at 2201 across Northamptonshire.

The proportion of Northamptonshire's capped households which are single parent households with dependent children has increased again to 78.8%, the highest quarterly proportion on record since November 2013. This is above the England average of 71.8%.
